Why should I care?

With the advent of social media, unverified scientific misinformation often spreads wildly and remains unchecked. Scientific communication skills are not standardized in graduate school and should be implemented in elementary education. Mastering scientific communication builds critical thinking in our society. It is the responsibility of us as a scientific community to improve our connection to the public!

You must be a co-author on a relatively recent peer-reviewed publication, and provide a 200-word lay summary of your work that must answer “Why should I care?”, and a curated figure.
